Shift Bristol is part of a thriving and growing network of dedicated tutors, practitioners, community projects, businesses and 300+ past students.
As an organisation we don't own premises or land. Our courses take place in a variety of locations across Bristol and further afield. This helps ground skill development in a real-world context.
Our network improves the resilience of projects, organisations and businesses to thrive in a world facing multiple challenges.
Ways we collaborate:
- Site improvement
We need land-based locations for practical elements of the Practical Sustainability Course curriculum.
We install Living Willow Sculptures, Retrofit existing buildings and 'Permablitz' at growing sites; which includes building, mending, digging, creating swales, weeding etc.
- Permaculture Design
Our Practical Sustainability Course students complete design projects as part of their learning. The design process involves surveying the land, consultancy with site users, assimilation and problem solving to improve health, resilience and productivity of land-based sites.
Students present and share their designs with peers and site users.
- Past Student Network
We can pass on details of volunteering, training, employment, and event opportunities with our past student network.
- Wider Network
We can offer advice and signposting to helpful sources of information or useful people within our network.
